washing the reds.
(much happier with this one)
watercolors. inspired a bit by this. I have a hard time having the colors be vivid and strong. It seems everything comes out a bit pale and washed out. I have to work on that.
tried to experiment with making patterns. I think I got carried away. It looks too much like an Easter egg now! It’s rather small (3in in diameter), but it took A LOT of time to do. Nevertheless, I think I will continue to explore patterns and such, though next time I won’t get carried away with the colors.
making a little pattern embroidery. It will be place in a smaller hoop at the end (hence the small circle). Added some lace to it for fun.
this is fun! I haven’t embroidered in months!
new project? Probably. I can’t stop writing lists, might as well paint some too.
The Way the Moon Makes the Snow Sparkle
(watercolors, white gel pen)
p.s. I need a better scanner.
a little story I created in September 2009. I’ve been wondering if I should expand it, or rework the illustrations (it feels it could look better in watercolors no?), and offer it as a zine.
Either way, for now you can see it at the link (click through the illustrations to go to their flickr pages)
